DualCom and Redcare Alarm Monitoring

Dualcom and RedcareSome insurance companies may ask you to have a Redacre Alarm or DualCom Alarm System. These are basically a Dual Path Signalling method for Intruder Alarms so for example if your telephone line is cut, you have a backup source e.g. mobile phone technology or GPRS for your alarm system. We normally recomend Dualcom Plus Alarm Monitoring. With this type of signalling method, your alarm system has 3 ways to communicate with the Alarm Receiving Centre. If your alarm system is activated it would firstly send a signal via GPRS, then GSM and lastly a backup landline at your property.

To find out more about Dualcom monitoring you can visit the DualCom website at CSL DualCom.

Monitored Alarm for your Business

A monitored system is strongly recommended for business premises. These are normally registered with the police who issue a Unique Reference Number (URN) for the premises. Use of the URN ensures that the police already have full details of the alarmed premises, along with records of any hazardous areas. This saves time passing details of any alarm activation to the police and enables a speedier response.

With a monitored burglar alarm, your premises will be watched over 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! If your alarm activates, our alarm receiving centre will contact you and your keyholders to let you know of an activation. They will also contact the police in the event of a confirmed alarm.

COP Monitored burglar alarms are installed to British and European Standards BS4737, prEN50131/PD6662 and DD243:2004.

Police Response - Confirmed Alarms

Following the latest guidelines issued by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), many police forces will not attend alarms from non-monitored systems unless there's also firsthand evidence of a crime, whether from a owner or a member of the public phoning in.

The police will attend an alarm signal routed via the AIM Alarm Receiving Centre, from a monitored alarm that qualifies for Police Response.
